They say politics makes strange bedfellows. Apparently it also makes weird travel companions. That’s one of the many lessons of America, You Sexy Bitch: A Love Letter to Freedom, a new book from comedian Michael Ian Black and writer Meghan McCain. Black is an atheist Democrat and the son of a lesbian former Social Security employee; McCain is a Christian Republican and the daughter of, well, you know. Somehow they managed to survive a summer in the same RV, hitting the road from California to Connecticut in search of common ground. Along the way, they talked to strippers and senators, Mormons and Muslims, soldiers and anarchists, and all stripes of Americans in between.
